早稲田大学大学院国際コミュニケーション研究科は、2013年に誕生する早稲田大学22番目の新しい研究科です。母体となった国際教養学部は、2004年に開設されて以来、英語によるリベラルアーツ学部として自然科学、社会科学、人文科学を横断的に教えるプログラムを展開してきました。その結果、これまでにない幅広い知見をもったグローバル人材の育成に貢献し、日本人学生のみならず海外からの留学生も数多く受け入れてきました。国際コミュニケーション研究科では、国際教養学部での経験と蓄積を活かし、さらに高次のレベルで国際コミュニケーション学を基礎とした学際的教育・研究を、英語を基軸言語として実現していく予定です。

The Graduate School of International Culture and Communication Studies will start on April, 2013, as the 22nd and latest graduate school of Waseda University. The new graduate school is built upon the School of Intenational Liberal Studies, which has contributed to producing the so-called “global human resources” since 2004, as it has accepted not only Japanese high-school graduates but also a number of international students especially from neighboring Asian countries. SILS is a liberal arts department operated in English where students are able to learn a variety of academic fields such as communication studies, cultural studies, and international relations. GSICCS is designed to achieve, at the graduate level, what SILS has already achieved at the undergraduate level and even more.
